VPower Group, joined by Peruvian President, celebrates the grand opening of its first DPG station investment project in Latin America




On 28 November 2017, Peru Time, the grand opening ceremony of VPower Group’s first DPG station investment project in Latin America was held at the site area in Iquitos, Peru. Peruvian President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski attended the ceremony together with Ministers Cayetana Aljovin (Energy and Mines) and Bruno Giuffra (Transport and Communications) to celebrate the development progress of the city.

The recently commenced 80 MW HFO-fired DPG station will help the isolated city to connect to the rest of the nation, benefiting more than 400,000 inhabitants in the area. In view of this, the Peruvian leader reaffirmed their strong support to the project during the ceremony.


VPower Group’s first DPG station investment in Latin America is located in Iquitos, the largest city of Peruvian Amazon.


Samson Lam, Executive Chairman of VPower Group, presented a crystal souvenir to Peruvian President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski, as a pledge of friendly relationship.


A site tour was arranged for the authorities to give details on the equipment and operation.
